What can people with MS do to avoid having lesions?

There is no cure for MS, but are there things people can do to be healthier and live longer? What can people with MS do to avoid having lesions?
Hello

I agree 100%..research which of the disease modifying drugs is best for your lifestyle and get on one of them.I have had MS for many years and am doing very well. In addition to the stress, I feel like taking care of yourself is a big part of it as well..Eat right, watch your weight, exercise and keep active.Last but not least, ATTITUDE..do not let MS control YOU..YOU control your MS. If you lay down and let MS take over..it will..

Good luck and stay positive !What can people with MS do to avoid having lesions?
Medicines such as Avonex, Rebif, Copaxone and Tysabri will in most cases lower the exacerbation rates and make exacerbations less severe.

Also, some studies have show that stress can lead to exacerbations. So people with MS should generally avoid getting stressed.

So taking medicine and trying to stay calm should help avoid or at least lower the number and severity of lesions to some degree.
