Is there any connection between brain lesions and a diagnosis of MS?

My girlfriend has brain lesions and has been diagnosed as having MS but hasn't seen much, if any, progression as far as MS goes. She does, however, have infrequent episodes where she is completely disoriented and things and places that she's used to normally, she will fail to recognize. She also has trouble understanding and processing what is being said to her during these episodes and can only usually respond with one word anwers or questions. These episodes, although infrequent, can last for days and even weeks at a time.Is there any connection between brain lesions and a diagnosis of MS?
ms causes lesions on the back side of the brain. but her symptoms sound strange to me. I hope you are able to get medical help for whatever is going on, and sorry that you have to go through this with her. i know it's tough not knowing what's wrong. Is there any connection between brain lesions and a diagnosis of MS?
Does she have a primary care who can refer her to a neurologist. She really needs to communicate with her doctor, or have someone do it for her if she cannot. I hope she feels better soon. MS is such a complicated disease. My heart goes out to the both of you.
